::Yes, it's still me :o) ::

Goodness!  May already!

Yes, a couple of exclamation marks there :o)

Only a couple of weeks, and it's birthday time when my lifes supposed to begin :o)
Don't know what I've been doing for the past (nearly) forty years, but I'm kinda looking forward to getting this birthday over with!
It's sort of been 'looming' for a while now...I just want to get there and be done with!
Did anyone else who's hit 40 feel like that? Or am i just being very miserable about it ? LOL

***
Goodness, there I am yacking away and I forgot to mention what I posted for.

I had quite a big 'DOH' moment today! LOL (must be the age creeping up :o))
Well, as you regulars will notice I've had a name change to my blog.
I used to have a blog called 'Bizzydays'. Then in February I changed it and my etsy shop to a new name I decided on (bizzydays was too much like my life) which was Little Tiny Stitches.
I somehow thought that (as with etsy I had to open a whole brand new shop), I had to start a brand new blog too!
But no, I didn't have to, I just had to change a few things about.. Doh.  Boy, did I feel silly when I realised that this afternoon or what!  LOL.

Still, it's done now and we're supposed to learn by our mistakes aren't we?
believe me, I learn alot everyday :o)

I've been making more jar cozies today Jennie spurred me on with her post about her vintage bottle collection.
So whilst the children were doing their Karate I crocheted away. I forgot to take pictures before I posted though, so i'll pop them on in the week.

Anyway, that's it for me today.
Just a quick picture of one of my 'inherited' peonies out in bud. I have five buds altogether, and I've been zealously guarding them since they first popped their little heads up. (sad I know :o)

And here's my little lupin plants with their first 'true' leaves. I've got about 20 of these little plant's that I've been nursing along -since I sowed the seeds- for weeks now.

Honestly, I've got the smallest garden we've ever had, and I'm turning into a blooming gardener! :o)

Have a great week everyone.
Do take care.

Love Donna xxx

  1. Well, Donna~ I think I felt a similar sense of dread leading up to my 40th, then a great sense of relief once I made it to 40 and no horrible thing happened. *They* say 40 is the new 30, and it's kind of nice to start out a new decade of life feeling like you know where you've been and where you'd like to go.

Thanks very much for the shout out to my blog- I'm looking forward to seeing your makes.

5 peony buds? I'm jealous! Mine didn't bloom last year at all... I've been delaying going to see mine this year because I'm afraid of the same thing. Guard those babies against all but the ants!!

Have a great week, and don't you worry about this birthday one little bit- xoxoxo J

  2. Happy Birthday - hope you have a great day. I didnt feel a sense of dread, more like it was a new chapter starting in my life, but then it was as I got married on my 40th x

  3. I had a sense of dread about my 40th last year but actually it was fine - in fact quite fun. I decided that after 40 years I was going to be me - not someone everyone wanted me to be but actually me. I'd wear what I wanted to - not what the high street dictates etc. Its been fab so far.

Hope the same goes for you - enjoy it and I hope you get spoilt.

40 is just GREAT so try not to worry about it at all; you'll love it -everything gets better from now onwards (it either gets better, you can't remember it or you can't see it!!)

  7. Well you certainly know how to confuse people don't you with all this name changing?!

I wasn't dreading reaching 40, in fact I was quite looking forward to my life changing, but I couldn't tell any difference!

  8. I turned 40 in February, Donna, and I wasn't too thrilled with it. But, you know, I realize that I don't feel any differently at all and got over it really quickly! Why waste time lamenting something that's inevitable and cannot be helped or changed, right? Besides, I know this may sound really corny, but I am just happy to be able to get up each morning, being able to see and enjoy the simple pleasures. Yes, corny but true. I think as we get older--mature really--we begin to realize what's truly important. That in itself is a blessing. Happy Birthday!

PS What did you think of that wedding? I so enjoyed watching it here--six hours behind you.
