A lovely Morning :o) Part One !

Well, hello lovely people :o)
I hope this post finds you all fine and dandy, and the lovely Mummys around the world had a superb day yesterday :o)

I've just had (well a few hours ago now actually ) the most lovely morning.
And it was all down to this lovely lady.

Today was the day of the second Vintage at the Village Hall fair.
Oh, it was wonderful, and I wish you could have all been there too :o)

I took tons of pictures, but I have to say I did feel a bit self conscious taking snaps today. I didn't see anybody else doing it at all, and believe me there were plenty of people there!
D'you think it's 'normal' (lol) to take photos everywhere you go?
When I said this to my hubby this afternoon, he said " Of course it isn't ".
But if I don't take 'em, you can't see can you?
And I do so like to look back on happy things, don't you?

Anyway, I digress!
Here's just a few of the snaps I took..

This was one of the stalls that were outside..

Luckily the rain kept away today, and the sun even popped out for a while too.

I love the little basket crib at the front..

This pushchair was so sweet, when I had a last look round before I had to pick my daughter up from school, the pushchair had some cute little booties in front of it too :o)

I fell in love with these old cart wheels...
I should have bought one for the garden really..I know that they look nice 'done up,' but I would have left it just as it is and laid it against the old stone pots that we put out in the front garden at the begining of spring.

And just think, I used to have outside baths in tin baths the same as whats in this picture above!

I can't remember half the stalls names, but i know these gorgeous flowers below belonged to Jo of Hesta Nesta and her lovely Pugs :o)
See those little piles of goodness beside the jug of flowers?  See? Well, they're lovely little piles of vintage quilt pieces.
Honestly, I wanted ALL OF THEM!  How greedy is that?  LOL

I mean it's not just the gorgeous feel and look of the vintage fabrics used the make the quilt pieces, but to me it's the history behind the making.
You know, like what was that scrap of fabric used for originally? Who was it who made the quilt? And these are actually someones else stitches here which they've sewn to make something so scrummy and precious.

I hasten to add that Jo hasn't just chopped up a load of precious vintage quilts! These are ones where by they aren't salvagable (is that the right word?) as a whole quilt :(   So she's saved the bits she can for people like me to enjoy :o)

And look at this kitchen cupboard! Do you remember having one like this when you were young? or did you know someone who had one?
I do. But the one I remember was yellow, and where this cupboard has got two lovely little scalloped window doors in the top,

the one I remember had a slidie-along-door.

I do love them though, and would love to have it in my dining room to keep my makes in:o)

Well, that's it for today people.
Blogger's not playing anymore, so I'll be back with part 2 in the week.
I had the most lovely time though, and I really could have stayed there all day..
Time seemed to just fly away from me.

If you'd like to see who was at the fair selling, just pop over here, and there's a list in the side bar letting you know who everyone was.

See you in the week with more pictures, and what I bought.
Take care everyone.

Love Donna xx

Have you ever cut an apple in half? :o)

Well, Hello lovely people!

How are you this fine evening?  Hmmm?

I've been a bit busy this past week. The children broke up from school a week ago Friday, so I've been playing taxis.  We've been tidying up the garden, and popping plants in here and there.
The weather's been teasing us a bit hasn't it? I've been bursting to get my runner beans planted up in the little plot they've been allocated, but I daren't in case old jack frost pays us a visit and I lose 'em.
And look at the little beauties! They're even bigger than this now, cos' this was taken a few days ago.
In front are the french beans...equally scrummy :o)

We had some help in the garden this week as the Easter holidays are upon us. It made us laugh because in every photo I took, for some reason, it was the time when our eldest was 'supervising' ....she did do some weeding and digging herself...honest ;o)

Look at their pale legs...I can't wait for more sunshine now.

Look at the gorgeous blossom that's bursting out all over our drastically pruned apple tree..

Isn't it gorgeous?

Now, I want you to look at this photo of blossom, and tell me..

Have you ever cut an apple in half.....horizontally?
You know, not in apple 'segments', but the other way?

Well, here's a useless/interesting fact for you.
The apple inside is split up into five segments, and it mimics the shape of the blossom...
See?  Look at the blossom above, then look at the photo of the apple cut 'in half' below and see the stars/segments?

Full of interesting/useless facts this week I am! LOL

By the way I know the apple is old and wrinkly, I wasn't going to feed it to the children it was being cut for the birds ;O)

I got up early this morning to 'do' another craft fair.
It was in the most lovely setting...an old farm with a 'medieval' hall. Luckily I wasn't in the hall, (it was a bit cold in there)  but outside in a marquee just by the door.

This is my stall before I set up...

And this is it after it was set up.

In the afternoon, the sun came right round and shone on me, it was like being on holiday:o)

At least we had more visitors than last time at the other fair.  I sold a few bits this time, and had a good day...very relaxing.

I've been beavering away making bunting all week, but I didn't sell any lol, so that will go in my little etsy shop this week.
~~~
I've been wanting to show you this gorgeous little B&B up the road from me for a while, but I keep forgetting to stop the car (well it's about 5 miles up the road actually) and take a picture...
It has the most magnificent Camelia growing next to it which looks glorious in the morning sunshine.
The day I stopped it wasn't sunny (or the mornig)  :o)  LOL
But I wanted to show you it's quaintness anyway :o)
Have a lovely week everyone, and I hope it's sunny for you wherever you are.
Take care,
Love Donna xxx
Total photo overload ! :0) and new family members :0)
 Well, Good evening lovely people :0)
How are you all this dreary Friday?  Hope all is fine and dandy in your world :o)
Now, you must all know by now about the little squabbles I keep having with blogger. So this week, I've tried to beat him at his own game, and nearly every spare moment I've had, I've been trying to upload photos onto a blog post..( when you eventually get to the end of this post, you're going to think that I have an enormous amount of 'spare moments' in my life lol :)
So, this post is chock full of photos that I've been wanting to show you, but blogger hasn't let me. They're nothing important at all, and if you want to stop reading/looking now, you won't be missing much. Or on the other hand, if you want to carry on and have a nose, I suggest you nip and get a nice cup 'o tea now :0)
In my last blog posts, I've had a bit of a whine at the lack of flowers in this new garden. Well, we got up on Tuesday morning (which was beautifully bright and sunny here,) to be greeted by a whole tree full of beautiful pink blossom :0)
Next up are the continued photos of my very unsuccessful fair :)
The lady below did knitting, and she made some gorgeous hats...
And she also knitted childrens shrugs and lovely handbags...I have to say they were the nicest knitted handbags and shrugs I have ever seen. The attention to detail was second to none...
I can't remember if I showed you this jewellery and bag stall...
Next up, was the handmade card lady..
And this lovely lady had driven about 35-40 miles to get to the fair and not sell anything!.....
Goodness, I'm glad my youngest daughter didn't come to the fair, she would have wanted all these sock monkeys. The lady made them herself, and she didn't sell any either :(
And lastly, I totally resisted temptation.....
Now, here's the other photos of the rag crochet bag I finished at the begining of the week...
And this photo of it...see that big, hhuuuggeee box my bag is sitting on (notice the crocheted scarf  that I'm currently working on poking out :0) I always seem to have one of these on the go at the moment)  well, I'm not allowed to see in that box...OOoooooo, how exciting....It came on Tueday, my hubby had ordered it, and it's my BIRTHDAY present.... I couldn't believe it! (It's not my birthday till May) What d'you reckon's in it? Well, I know what I would have liked , but I didn't think (well, I know we don't) have the funds available for that at the moment, so I was so surprised when this arrived, and now I feel like a little kid, just wanting to get in that box ! lol   And, it's kinda the size for what I would have liked too...Ooooo.. lol
Still, you'll just have to wait the same as I have to :0)
Next up is the little Plum Tomatoe seeds I planted. I planted them five days ago -just before this piccy-, and this morning they were up already..yummy :0)
This is one of the triangles (do the triangles have an actual name in their own right?) of my youngest daughters birthday bunting...
This is another made from one of her favourite tops from when she was younger :0)
And this is the whole set of bunting.. The other fabric is what Clara kindly sent me with the PIF that I won from her a while ago. My youngest adored this piece of fabric, so I saved it to make something for her :0)
I was going to put her name on the bunting, but i'll have to do that at a later date as I ran out of time :0)
This pot holder has been newly made, but not by me...
I found it just waiting on the shelf for me at my local Charity Shop (CS) for 50p. I just had to buy it and love it :)
I got these there too for £2.00.  I've already got one, but I thought the girls might like to try Knifty Knitting too :0)
I adore the pomander that I got a few weeks back. It's the first one that I've found out and about in the charity shops. I love them. I fell in love with them at the handmade and vintage fair that I went to last year. One of the sellars had a huge box full of them, and the all the colours and little floral decorations were divine...
Then I found one of my own :0)
It's funny, but the first rubber stamp I ever bought (they were very expensive all those years ago...) was a little tiny sweet violet....and this pomander just reminded me of it :0)
This is a lovely little Crown Devon vase that I spied in the CS for 50p
Now next up, get ready for the Aaaahh factor......
These are the newest members of our family....
Two little cute Dwarf Roborovski hamsters called Nibbles and Honey. They are only about 6cm-8cm long, and they are so tiny and cute ..(yes, the pictures above are both of them!)
We eventually gave in to wanting/pester power to our youngest daughter (it was her twelth birthday yesterday ) and bought her these two cuties. She's wanted a pet since she was about five. The other two haven't been that bothered about pets, but she's kept on, so I hope it's not just a phase :)
At birthday time and Christmas, (and any other special occasions) we have 'buffet' to eat in our house. It's our kinda tradition. I spend the day in the kitchen (or the day before) and then we have all the old fashioned things like vol-u-vents, cheese and pineapple, mini sausages (veggie of course) posh (just for Jennie :0)
triangle sandwiches (we call them posh, cos' for some reason I always cut our sarnies into squares) and salads, and crisps and cold pizza...well, you get the picture...(or you will if you scroll down :0)
Oh, this cake caused me grief I can tell ya!   (but that's another story ;0)
This is a picture of our Wollemi Pine. It's my favorite green tree, and we've had it since it was little. It comes from Australia, and was recently discovered (a few years back) as a new species.
These are the lovely red shoots of the peony bush that was here when we moved in...looking hopeful :0)
And that's it...
YOOOOHOOOO.....wakey, wakey....
You can wake up now :0)
Well, I hope I didn't bore you too much.
I'll be back on Monday to see how many of you want to do the Pay it Forward so far it's just two of you, but if any more want to join in, it's not big items that you have to gift out, just spreading abit of happiness, that's all :0)
So don't forget to enter on my last post  (or this one, just say you'd like to enter.)
Now you all take care, have a good weekend, enjoy the sunshine (hopefully) and take it easy :0)
Guess what?....
Evening lovely bloggy friends :0)
Firstly (goodness, that's starting to sound like an acceptance speech, and I only wrote one word lol)
I'll start again :0)
Thankyou all so much, everyone one of you, for leaving such lovely supportive comments on my last post. They really do mean a lot to me and boosted my morale tremendously :0)
Well I know you all want to know how it went yesterday, so I won't keep you waiting  any longer...
I sold...
not a sausage.... :(
BUT,  I won't take it personally, 'cos ....
only 26 people came through the doors,  (yes, 26!!)
It was Sunday...
I was most definately not the only one who didn't sell a sausage (even though i wasn't selling sausages, and may have sold 26 if I had done! lol) )
and...., I had a day out which I spent mostly crocheting :0) and I don't often get to do that lol
and...., I can now fill up my etsy shop with all my goodies, and look about for the next crafty event where I can go :0)
See, so it wasn't all bad news.
here's the piccys....
My table was at the back beneath the stage, so I was able to pop Susan on there so I had someone to chat to if I wanted lol  ( I took her along just in case :0)
Here's two more tables that were there...
This was a childrens parties one..
and this was a bit n bobs one...
and bloggers not playing any more, which is probably a good thing as it's quarter past ten, and I should be in bed.
I'll be bakc in the week with the other stall holders pictures, and my PIF. :0)
You all take it easy, and have a good week.
Speak soon,
Love Donna xx
